APRIL 2011 NEWSLETTER

Well, the season has kicked off with the mini express event at NLRC and our calendar is filling up fast for the remainder of 2011.

We also have more exciting news for Members in the North of England.  We have teamed up with Gloucester Lodge Farm, in Northumberland, to add ex racehorse classes to their annual show and also ex racehorse places and points at their other events.  Visit gloucesterlodgefarm.co.uk for all the dates and events.  This adds a range of events to our calendar, covering showing, dressage, show jumping and hunter trials to our calendar, and Northumberland is within reasonable access for many of our Scottish members too – we do hope that you support their events.

We are also in negotiations with one other fabulous event and venue and hope to make an announcement soon, again opening up more ScotNorth events for our members in The North.

It is great to see that we have classes at race courses, Ayr and Carlisle and we are supporting the Northern Ex Racehorse show at Sedgfield racecourse – what better place to show off these wonderful horses than on their old stomping grounds!

The calendar of events is detailed on the diary dates page – we are getting busier each year as our hard work to promote ex racehorses is finally paying off.  However, without your support by attending these events, and putting on such a fabulous show of what these wonderful horses can achieve, we could not have done it – so thank you everyone.  Be sure to visit the main website www.scotnorthexracers.co.uk for regular updates to the Diary Dates page, 2011.

If anyone wishes to become a planning committee member for their area please email me at scotnortherc@aol.co.uk.  Or, if you know of any shows/events local to you that may be interested in hosting ScotNorth classes or highest placed ex racehorse awards then please email me with their contact details and we will get in touch.

We will soon be posting up reports and photos from the various events through the year and hope you enjoy these.

We are looking forward to seeing you and your gorgeous horses out and about during 2011.

All the best from LisaH and the Planning Committee.
