  Jacqui Baird & Jad's Lad

Winners of the 2007 ScotNorth overall points series.

Jad is a veteran at 24 years young, he continues to delight all who know him with his great personality and ability to show the younger upstarts how it is really done!

Jad is a regular winner of showing classes, at local and county level, recently winning the open ex racehorse class at the Stirling Show.  He loves to strut his stuff at the racecourse parades, I am sure that he still has a chase in him but his mum would rather not find out :-)

Jad is a credit to Jacqui who keeps him fit and sound to compete all year round, a real achievement given his high mileage whilst racing.  He is a true ambassador for ex racehorses being a really honest gentleman - what more can you ask for in a horse ?

  Karon Carson - Off To Work We Go (Stan)

Karon and Stan have had a fantastic 2008 season so far - winners of Oatridge ODE and 11th at Burghie 2008.

Karon is a long time friend of mine and is the proprietor of Fyrish Equestrian Services (Scotland) http://www.fyrishequestrian  Her website is well worth a visit.

Stan was re-homed to Karon from Peter Monteith as a very naughty young ex racehorse who needed a very experienced, competent and patient rider with plenty of ''bottle''.  Being a long term friend of mine I knew she was the person who would get the best out of him - and the results have been fantastic.

Stan - who used to explode at the race track - put in a stunning dressage to music display on the track at Musselburgh and all his racing connections were just speechless !

Karon and Stan are a shining example of what can be achieved with retraining ex racehorses and we hope to see them both at many more events around the UK

  Michelle Pritchard - Protection Money

Winners of the ScotNorth ridden ex racehorse and 2nd in the TARRA ridden class at the ScotNorth show at the GG Centre in May 2008,

He won overall Ridden Show Champion.

Michelle worked with PM when he was in training and took him on after he broke down and could not return to racing. 

They have a great 'bond' and he is a great all rounder doing jumping, XC and dressage as well as showing classes.

 Jenna Pickles - Ponches Pilot (Hugo)

When Jenna and her mum went to see Ponches Pilot they did not even know he was an ex racehorse and said that may have put them off had they known.

Now - they are so glad they didn't know at first !!

Hugo won the TARRA ridden class, was 2nd in the ScotNorth ridden class an overall reserve ridden champion at the ScotNorth show on 11th May 2008 at the GG Centre.

Just recently he won his dressage section at the Manor Grange Stud against some very stiff (not literally, obviously!) competition and the photo here is of Hugo and Jenna proudly displaying their champion sash from that competition.

 Liz Kettle - Coeur Du Lion (Frenchie)

Frenchie is having a fantastic 2008 showing season with quite a few wins under her belt already.

This Photo is of her winning the Best Ex Racehorse at the Cleveland County Show in July 2008.

Liz is extremely proud of Frenchie and how well she is doing this season.

They are off to the Festival of Champions at the Great Yorkshire Showground in August to compete in the ex racehorse classes and we wish them all the best, along with all our other members who have qualified.
